Cosmetic Dentistry

With dentistry's many advances, you no longer have to settle for stained, chipped or misshapen teeth. You now have choices that will allow you to smile with confidence while restoring health and vitality to your teeth. To many people, your smile is an expression of who you are. Be perceived as someone who is confident and vibrant with a smile that is harmoniously balanced and perfectly suited with the other features of your face.

  • Whitening: Whitening has become one of the most popular facets of cosmetic dentistry. Several factors contribute to the darkening of teeth, including certain food and drink, smoking, certain medicines and age. Even subtle changes in the shading of someone's teeth can make them look years younger. We are proud to offer to our patients the Zoom whitening system as well as take home custom whitening trays.
  • Enamel shaping: We can modify your teeth to improve their appearance by contouring the enamel in a quick and comfortable procedure. Plus, the results can be seen immediately.
  • Veneers: Veneers are thin coverings that are placed on your front teeth that can be used to treat spaces between your teeth and teeth that are chipped or worn. Veneers can also lighten permanently stained teeth and correct poorly shaped or slightly crooked teeth.

Restorative Dentistry

New advances and techniques in dentistry allow us to restore damaged, decayed or lost teeth with strong, natural looking materials that are absolutely beautiful. We take a conservative approach to restoring your teeth, preserving as much of the natural tooth as possible.

  • Tooth colored fillings: composite fillings provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small to medium size restorations. These fillings are bonded to the tooth, allowing for a more conservative restoration. Bonded composites can be molded and shaped to achieve outstanding results, and once polished, they give the appearance of natural tooth structure.
  • Crowns: crowns are coverings that fit over teeth, necessary because of broken down or old fillings, or fractured teeth. Crowns can also improve the appearance of malformed, malpositioned or discolored teeth.
  • Implant Dentistry: While we refer our patients to oral surgeons for implant placement, we can restore implants in our offices. Our twenty-six years of experience with implants ensures that you will receive the best care available.

Implant Dentistry

Implants are a great way to replace teeth, and oftentimes the most predictable. Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. They offer stability because they fuse to your bone. This integration to the jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural. We have over twenty six years of experience with implants to ensure you will receive the best possible care.

Technology

For a thorough and up-close examination, we’ll use an intraoral camera during your exam to projects an image from inside your mouth to a monitor. This allows us to show you exactly what we find so that you’ll understand the treatment plan we suggest. DIAGNOdent, a tool that detects tooth decay that may otherwise escape detection, shows us where decay has occurred. It also reveals areas prone to decay, and from this, we can determine your preventative care plan. Other state-of-the-art equipment helps us provide superior care and multiple treatment options.

Sedation Dentistry -Your personal comfort with Sedation Dentistry

Many patients experience significant fear or anxiety when dental treatment is planned. Quite often, this fear is the result of a very negative dental experience from the past. The fear and anxiety are real. It is very difficult and in some cases impossible to eliminate these feelings on your own. In order to help alleviate your fears and anxieties, we have stereo headphones with XM radio, which helps to mask the sounds of the appointment with your own choice of music. We also have nitrous oxide and oxygen gases, which are inhaled through a nosepiece, and can help the vast majority of patients relax. If a stronger sedation is needed, oral medications can be prescribed before the appointment. These oral medications combined with the nitrous oxide and oxygen gases enable most patients to “sleep” through their appointments. The sleep is light enough to be safe, yet deep enough to make the visit comfortable and pleasant.

Patient Comfort

Each treatment room offers XM radio for your pleasure during exams, as well as blankets and memory foam pillows for your comfort. We can administer nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, or oral sedation when necessary.

Oral Health

Our hygienists specialize in preventive oral health care and the promotion of wellness. After assessing a patient's individual oral health condition, our hygienists will develop a treatment plan by incorporating the latest in scientific research, including the impact of oral health on diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. While assessing the patients overall health, our hygienists will also look for signs of early tooth decay. In addition to providing direct patient treatment, Karen and Laura are dedicated to educating our patients to follow preventive measures at home.

It is estimated that three out of four Americans have some form of periodontal disease. Regular visits to our hygienists are extremely important because gingivitis, the early stage of periodontitis, is usually painless and you may not be able to detect it yourself. Early detection of periodontal disease reduces the risk of permanent damage to teeth and gums and can prevent more extensive and costly treatment in later years.
