"I was born with teeth that were too large for my small mouth, and my parents couldn’t afford dental visits, so I went through all of my teenage years with crooked teeth and not much smiling.  Then came marriage, 4 children, and all of the expenses involved with sending 4 children out into the world.  Through all of those years--my 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s--I was still very self-conscious of my ugly teeth.  But, my children’s teeth came first, and I saw to it they had proper dental care. I always said that as soon as I was able financially, I was going to fix my own teeth.  As an adult, I faithfully saw my dentist every 6 months, but was the victim of what they, in the dental field, call “supervised neglect.”  At the age of 53, I decided that I was finally able do for myself the one thing I had always promised myself that I would do someday--fix my teeth. The process began with a shocking discovery--the dentist I had seen for 25 years had failed miserably, and I was faced with gum disease, molars which had to be extracted, and lots of remedial work to prepare my mouth for 2 years of braces. After the braces came off, I was left with ugly spaces and misshapen teeth (albeit straight), so I needed to find a really good dentist who did cosmetic dentistry as well as general dentistry.  A friend of mine at work recommended Dr. McKay, and that’s when my transformation began. From the moment I walked into his office for the first time, I knew that he and his staff were professionals, and that my dream was really going to come true. I never waivered for a moment, not when they told me the cost, and not when they told me that I might find the treatments uncomfortable.  It’s the best money I ever spent on myself, and I couldn’t be happier with the way my teeth look.  Most importantly for my overall general physical health, my oral health is in the best shape ever. For the first time in my life, I smile unabashedly big smiles, and it’s such a wonderful feeling to know that my smile is finally a pretty one. I am almost 60 now, and I would do it again in a heartbeat! "
